Accessing Free Licenses in Office 365

Problem

Instructions for accessing your free Office licenses through Outlook Web App.

Solution

  1. From the device on which you want to install the software, go to the Pioneer Portal.
  2. Click the blue Email button.
  3. Log in using your full UW-Platteville email address and password.
  4. Click on the app launcher (9 dots) in the upper left-hand corner.

  5. Click on the "Microsoft 365" link.

  6. Click on Install Apps then choose the first option in the drop-down, Microsoft 365 apps.

  7. The installer should start downloading.  You should also see a pop-up with further instructions on how to start the installation process.
  8. You will be notified once installation is complete.  Remember to sign in using your UW-Platteville email and password when prompted to validate the license.

*Depending on which device you are using, some applications may not be available.  For a list of which software is available for which devices, see Free MS Office for Students and Current Employees
